Ireland! and some soup recipes…

ben in aran islandsHi folks!  It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything new here.  Went to Ireland a few months ago – where the food was wonderful, including that characteristic soda bread. The Irish have been doing the farm-to-table concept for many years, as well as the nose-to-tail use of locally sustainably-grown meats and poultry.

I’m still making deliveries to regular customers of my sourdough  breads – doing it now on*ben in kitchenFriday mornings. Email me at bencooksinojai@gmail.com if you’d like to be added – or call me at (818) 257-3385.  And of course I’m still doing pastries 3 days a week for Ojai’s Coffee Connection, including their new location in Oak View.

The current issue of the Ojai Valley Visitors Guide has an interesting article by Randy
Graham – interviewing three local chefs who share their soup recipes just right for this time of year.  Mine’s a delicious, healthy and easy vegetable soup with turkey meatballs! Click on the issue below and go to page 134.

About Ben DiGregorio

I come from a family of bakers and cooks, originating in Sicily. I worked with my father for many years in the family baking business in Brooklyn, NY, where he taught me the complexities of yeast-raised dough, sour-doughs, Danish, coffee cakes, puff paste, choux paste, etc., as well as an array of Italian, French and other European breads. In addition to a wide range of entrees, I specialize in bread, home-made pastas, smoked meats and pastries
